Google+ Branded Business Pages and Direct Connect go LIVE!

We have been waiting for Google+ Pages for brands and businesses for a long time. Well, we are happy to say that they are finally here for your social media marketing enjoyment. The new pages are heavily incorporated with Google search and even have their own new feature called Direct Connect.

“People search on Google billions of times a day, and very often, they’re looking for businesses and brands. Today’s launch of Google+ Pages can help people transform their queries into meaningful connections, so we’re rolling out two ways to add pages to circles from Google search. The first is by including Google+ pages in search results, and the second is a new feature called Direct Connect.”

Google + Announces Google + Applications!

Google Senior VP of Social Vic Gundotra announced that Google+ will now support Google Apps accounts sometime in the next few days. During a Q&A at the Web 2.0 Summit Gundotra confirmed that the integration was “imminent, within a matter of days.”

The issue of not being able to use Google+ with a Google Apps account has been one of the biggest drawbacks for many would-be users. The reason behind holding off on launching Google+ for Google Apps until now is the company “thought they would have more time” before the social networking site became this popular. CircleMe is a new social network that is generating quite a buzz online. Like Facebook, you can specify the things you like or are interested in, but the difference is that CircleMe allows you to aggragate content surrounding these links and interests. In addition, it lets you connect with others who have the same passion as you.

CircleMe is an incredibly exciting concept. In a way, it is similar to what Facebook is currently trying to achieve in their new update which is just about to be released. Facebook is moving away from just offering the ability to Like content. Facebook is also working on the content creation concept as well, however, they are generating the content through the form of third party applications. SEO Inc. compiled statistics from eight diverse companies. It should be noted that none of the companies we recorded information from were in the publishing industry, and only one company was in the tech industry.

Facebook Launches People Talking About This & New Facebook Insights

Facebook has been making a ton of changes lately, and here is yet another one… But I think you will like it: Facebook’s new the number of People Talking About This. Facebook released this update a couple days ago, but when evaluating this new feature we stumbled upon something else as well, a new Facebook Insights! In this blog we will take a look at the Facebook People Talking About this Feature, as well as the new Facebook Insights update.

Facebook People Talking About this Feature

Here is a quote from Facebook on the new people talking about this feature. “Improvements to Insights: You’ll now see a new public metric called People Talking About This underneath your fan count to show the number of people on Facebook who have engaged with your page in the last 7 days.”

This feature lists the amount of people who have engaged with your page in the last 7 days. It should be noted that demographic data for people talking about this is only available when more than 30 people have talked about a page in the 7 days preceding the last day of your selected date range.
