Meet Search Engine Optimization Inc.’s CEO, Garry Grant

Garry Grant has worked in search engine optimization and digital marketing since 1996. As founder and CEO of SEO Inc., he has grown the company into a multi-service agency that develops proprietary technologies and strategic solutions for complex enterprise search challenges. He has consulted for companies including Amazon, Target, and Walmart, and in 2023 led the launch of SEO Inc.’s AI solutions for SEO and content.

His results are measurable. Garry’s programmatic SEO work for Entrepreneur generated more than $2 million per month in organic value across a 1M+ page archive, validated by a third-party Frost & Sullivan audit. His managed properties hold near-perfect Core Web Vitals scores of 99 mobile and 100 desktop, and his off-page programs have recovered more than 60 Google manual and algorithmic penalties with a 100% success rate. For PG&E, he led a two-year digital transformation that restructured SEO architecture, UX, and content, cutting call volume by 60% in seven months.

Under his leadership, SEO Inc. grew 1,576% over three years to earn a place on the Inc. 500 list of Fastest-Growing Private Companies in America, was a finalist for SEO Agency of the Year by Clutch.co, and has been named a Top San Diego SEO Agency. Along the way, he has built and scaled SEO, content, analytics, and technical teams of 150+, with content standards and governance tied directly to business goals.

Garry was an early mover in AI-driven search. He authored a published GEO/AEO and AI Overviews strategic framework, engineering structured data and EEAT signals built to win citations in AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini, not just traditional rankings.

He has been interviewed by The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, WIRED, and Entrepreneur, has written for Business 2 Community and The Huffington Post, and has appeared on MSNBC and San Diego television networks. He has delivered keynotes, including Hilton Global, to audiences of more than 4,000.

Garry began his online career in 1993, building web and e-business solutions for clients such as Homepage.com, The Rush Limbaugh Show, Premiere Radio Networks, Clear Channel Communications, and EarthLink. He also contributed strategically at Idealab / GoTo.com during the foundational development of paid search, the precursor to Google Ads.

In 2010, the University of California San Diego invited Garry to develop the nation’s first college-accredited SEO course for its business program: “SEO & SEM: The Fast Track to Search Engine Optimization and Marketing.” The updated course is now taught in-house at SEO Inc. and offered as virtual training to clients.

Before his digital career, Garry spent 27 years as a professional touring musician, including two years with Cutting Crew, sharing stages with artists such as Bruce Springsteen and Bon Jovi, and composing commercial scores for BMW and Polaroid. That blend of creative performance and technical discipline still shapes how he approaches strategy today.

Guitar MetronomeBlackRabbit Labs  (My Personal For Fun Project)

Following our work in digital strategy, technology, and performance-driven systems, we also develop specialized music technology through BlackRabbit Labs at Black Rabbit Metronome.

BlackRabbit Labs creates practical tools for musicians, guitarists, producers, and educators who want a more visual and intuitive way to practice, analyze, and shape sound. The project includes the Black Rabbit Metronome, a dedicated guitar metronome designed to make timing practice more engaging and musical.

The BlackRabbit Labs platform also includes Riff Shed, along with additional metronome and practice tools built for different playing styles and workflows. These tools help musicians build consistency, improve rhythm, and make focused practice easier to maintain.

For deeper sound analysis, BlackRabbit Labs is developing RackScope, a browser-based graphic EQ analyzer and spectrum analyzer for examining frequency balance, tone, and instrument placement.

The next stage is RackScope V2, an expanded interactive tone-analysis environment designed for the web, future desktop use, and eventual DAW integration. RackScope V2 is intended to give guitarists and audio creators a more visual way to understand frequency response, identify problem areas, compare tonal changes, and make more informed EQ decisions.

Together, these projects reflect the BlackRabbit Labs approach: combine thoughtful design, useful technology, and real-world musical applications to create tools that are both technically capable and enjoyable to use.
