Last week, we talked about guest blogging networks slowly going the way of the buffalo. These poor networks were set up to help sites across the board with their content needs. They weren’t out to hurt anyone. Guest blogging sites just gave freelance writers something to do. However, there is some gray area as to why sites are getting dinged for using guest bloggers. Sure, the content is there, but if it’s irrelevant to the website, there is a chance Google will take notice, and in certain cases, penalize your entire site for the use of guest blogging measures.

You ever wake up from a less-than-savory night out on the town only to sign into Facebook and see a few compromising photos with you lovingly tagged by your friends? We all know this shock or know someone that has experienced this, no? It’s not a good feeling, especially if you’re friends with coworkers, bosses, family members, and anyone else you might not want seeing you mainlining tequila and lighting a bus on fire. (What? That didn’t happen. Swear it wasn’t me.) Well if you were worried about this happening to you on Facebook (again), rest easy… Because now Twitter is getting into the action. Yes, Twitter now allows users to tag people in photos. Is it a measure to make sure we all act like adults now?

In a stroke of absolute advertising genius, the powerhouse of social media and fast food that is Taco Bell has released possibly one of the best commercials ever to promote its new breakfast offerings. While McD’s might have once stood at the forefront of the “fast-food breakfast” option, the Bell is upping its game with an ad that is not-so-deliberate-yet-way-over-the-top-deliberate to sway customers to eating waffle tacos for breakfast versus McAnythings. While we have you here, how is your brand doing on Facebook? Are you getting the “Likes” you want and the engagement you desire? If so, you can always do a little better, probably. (This isn’t to say you’re not doing a bang up job, but there is always room for improvement in the world of Social Media.)
