CARLSBAD, CA (May 29th, 2008) — SEO Inc., a Carlsbad, CA-based search engine optimization company with clients around the country, announced today that company executives will teach a three-day, 2.5-credit course on search engine optimization (SEO) and search engine marketing (SEM) at University of California San Diego  from 8:30 am-5 pm on August 19, 20 and 21.  The course – designed for webmasters, business owners and corporate marketers – is believed to be the first of its kind to offer college credit.

The class, titled “SEO & SEM: The Fast Track to Search Engine Optimization and Marketing” will equip participants with strategies for optimizing websites to achieve higher rankings in the top search engines.  Improved search engine rankings help companies increase their Web visibility, brand awareness and online sales.

Class sessions will first provide basic information on website architecture and search engine operation to help attendees understand what search engines look for when they rank websites.  Participants will then learn how to choose competitive keywords, write search engine-friendly website content, optimize code to help boost search engine rankings, create a successful linking plan, and other advanced optimization techniques.
