    We are pleased to announce that we have just become an affiliate member of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C.ORG), the nonprofit organization that serves as the Internet’s governing body. Created a decade ago, the World Wide Web Consortium’s purpose is to ensure the Internet reaches “its full potential by developing common protocols that promote its evolution and ensure its interoperability.”

    In layman’s terms, the World Wide Web Consortium creates the “rules of the game” for all Internet media (text, music, video, etc.) and the ways that they are distributed to computers, cell phones, PDAs, and so forth. This ensures that all media and devices are compatible with each other.

    The World Wide Web Consortium also is responsible for ensuring access to the Web by many devices, promoting best practices, coordinating with international regulatory bodies, accounting for cultural diversity, and encouraging research.

    Our affiliate member status puts us on the ground floor of the Internet revolution. We’ll be providing advice on pressing topics, helping to shape protocols, and getting insider access to the newest developments.
