SEO Inc. Toolbar v2.x Documentation
This page is updated whenever there are binary updates to the toolbar. The current version of the toolbar covered in this documentation is 2.0.2.0. Please confirm you are using this latest version or some parts of this documentation may not apply to you. We also recommend you always run the latest binary at all times.
Search Menu
- Select your preferred engine from the Search Menu drop down. You can tailor your
searches by performing any of the following:
- Edit the Toolbar_Config.xml file directly. If you are comfortable with XML and query strings of your favorite search engines, you can easily edit the file. Simply edit the file, save it, and reload IE.
- Use the Menu >> Options >> Search Engine Query String Builder form. You can tailor the query string to any element for an advanced search in four of the eleven search engines provided by default.
- Your selected engine persists across browsing sessions. So if you search with Yahoo! and reload IE, when you enter a search term, Yahoo! will be used by default until you change it by selecting a different engine.
Ranking Menu
- For the options "All Engines Ranking", "Google Ranking", "MSN Ranking", "Yahoo Ranking", do the following: visit the page you would like to find out ranking for. Enter the desired search term in the text box and select the appropriate option. "All Engines Ranking" returns the data from MSN, Yahoo! and Google. A popup will appear with the data you requested. At this point, you can also export the data

Engine Data
- "Get All Engine Data" is an option which can be configured via the Menu >> Options form by clicking on the Engine Data tab. Simply select which engine data elements you are interested in and apply the changes. By default, all are selected. From here, simply view the site you would like information about and select Engine Data >> Get All Engine Data. You will be shown a popup form with all of your requested engine data. You can export this for future reference as well.
- "Google Links", "Google Internal", "MSN Links", "MSN Internal", "Yahoo! Links", "Yahoo! Internal" options all redirect you to the appropriate query on said engine for the site you want information about.
- Compare Engine Data. Visit the page of one of your competitors and select the "Compare Engine Data" option. A form appears. Fill out the form appropriately and select what you want to compare (Ranking Data or Engine Data), click Run and view how you stack up against your competitor. This data can be exported for future reference as well.

Menu
- Options. This form is straight forward and to the point. However, if you should have any questions regarding its usage or functionality, do not hesitate to email me at conrad@seoinc.com
- Update SEO Toolbar Lite v2.0. You can manually update the parsing file by selecting this option. If there's a newer binary available for download, it will let you know. Please always run the latest binary.
- SEO Inc. Tools. A great batch of SEO related tools for free of charge.
- Help. Redirects you to this page.
Features Added in v2.0.2.0
- Error logging. If any exception occurs it is logged in Error.log in the same directory as the encrypted parsing file and config file. Never delete this file. If you ever require support or debugging, I will request to take a look at this file (if it exists) to further assist you.
- Automatic update of parsing file and check for newer binaries. This happens once at toolbar startup and once every 15 minutes of IE use. If the parsing file is older than an hour, it is automatically updated. At the same time, the toolbar checks for a new binary. If one exists, you will be notified. It is the same behavior as the manual update described above. This is to help ensure that you the user always has the latest binary. For obvious reasons, support will only be provided if you are running the latest binary..
- Competition features which are described above.
As always, if you have any suggestions, concerns, or questions regarding the toolbar, please email them to me at conrad@seoinc.com and include "SEO Toolbar" somewhere in the subject.- Select your preferred engine from the Search Menu drop down. You can tailor your
searches by performing any of the following:
