I made the image below during the process of creating materials for an upcoming webinar. The image basically shows how the search engine optimization process works. Now keep in mind, every website is different and each website comes to SEO Inc. with unique issues inherent to their stage in the optimization process. That being said, this image provides a good general idea of what the SEO process consists of. Google has finally done it. They have gone and made their search results even more social with new functionality they are coining as, “Search Plus your World.” Notable industry experts are going on record as saying it is the most radical transformation we have ever seen in Google search results. I am sure many search engine optimization professionals out there are shaking in their boots. And for good reason really, SEO is turning more into an aspect of social media marketing everyday. Really, with this change Google SEO has become more social media marketing, when logged in and using the personal results feature, than SEO!

So let’s take a look at these new Google features and then determine how to use them towards our advantage.
What is Google Search Plus Your World?
The concept behind Google Search Plus you World is fairly straightforward. Now, when you are logged into Google and do a search you will not only be presented with normal search results but also content that has been privately shared by people in your network. Google will be giving users who are logged in and do a search the option to toggle between personal results and normal results by clicking a simple button in the upper right hand corner of the Google search page. Furthermore, now when you do a search it will show the number of personal results and the number of other (normal results). If you like, you can only view personal results, which would only include things you or someone in your network have shared on a Google property such as Google+ or Picasa.
According to Google, these are the main changes taking place.
What are rich snippits? Rich snippits are a new form of mark up that allow you to better dictate the information Google displays regarding your webpage. Right now, rich snippts are all the rage. Why? Well they are helping savvy Internet marketers display better data in search results. This allows them to increase CTRs and get more business to their website. There are variety of types of rich snippits. In this post, we will list a series of videos on rich snippits from Google. But first, let’s take a look at what rich snippits are.
We have discovered that Twitter just created a new home page template with a few design versions! Here is a little information, and then we want to hear what you think!
The new home page is incredibly simple. It has a one basic image and a bright backdrop. The image and the backdrop change when the page is reloaded. The conversion and sign up box are very simple yet prevalent. The sign in button is blue and the sign up button is yellow, giving the later more emphasis.
The new Twitter home page is very compact and small, which seems to suggest they had mobile in mind when launching this design. When I tested this design on the iPhone, it did not render the full desktop version. Instead, it showed a simple blue sign up button and a black sign in button. It also showed the same images in a slow rotating slideshow. I am sure they are doing user agent detection for most mobile phones and then letting lesser known phones view the full desktop version, which is now nice and compact to be mobile friendly.
Overall, the new design feels a little off-brand and different for Twitter. But don’t let me influence your views. Check it out what do you think? View the designs and comment below!
