Venexus Develops DotNetNuke Search Engine

Raleigh, North Carolina - June 8, 2007 - Venexus, Inc., a business service provider, has just released a new version of its search engine designed for web sites and portals that use the DotNetNuke web application framework, comprised of the Seamus and Search modules.

The Seamus module is the crawler/spider service that aggregates content for the engine. The Search module provides the search form and the results of the query. Combined, these modules provide a powerful search engine for DotNetNuke sites with the added functionality to aggregate and index valuable data from non-DotNetNuke sites as well.

Mr. Smith added, ''In the previous release, we added the ability to index all of the most popular document types, including Excel, HTML, PDF, PowerPoint, Text, Word, and XML files. We also added search engine optimization features, like a complete portal RSS feed for all new and updated content, blog/feed aggregator pinging, and social book-marking of search results using many of the most popular social networks. In this latest release, we added file system indexing using the DotNetNuke folders and files architecture with integrated security, DNNAutoSuggest functionality for the search box, and many other features and tweaks.''

The latest release of Venexus Search also utilizes the new version of the EntitySpaces architecture, EntitySpaces 2007. EntitySpaces 2007 supports .Net Medium Trust operation. This opens the door for many users who may be using shared hosting and are currently limited by their hosting providers to medium trust environments.
