  • Search Engine, Tests Deep Text Analytics

  • 10/18/2006 - Search Engine, Tests Deep Text Analytics
Palo Alto, California - October 18, 2006 - Search engine, Attensity 4, has debuted a new suite designed to enable users to rapidly filter datasets, before conducting deeper analysis, by unleashing linguistic-based tools.

Keywords are tagged in unstructured data as it flows through Attensity's extraction engine. The entire process is embedded in the application, which eliminates costly set-up, implementation and update processes. Select customers are testing a beta version of Attensity 4 now. General availability from Attensity and its partners will begin in mid-October. Business Objects, IBM and Teradata sales representatives can discuss comprehensive analytic solutions that integrate Attensity's technology into their data warehousing, ETL and business intelligence systems.

According to the company, users can derive faster insights into the facts that reside in the text resulting from a search. For example, a user might hypothesize that a certain issue is starting to emerge in the business and use Attensity Text Search to determine if that issue is mentioned in service repair notes or claims forms. Once the results are returned, users can further hone in on the hypothesis by querying all of the behaviors or issues discussed in the documents that contain the keyword or phrase originally used for the search. Attensity Text Search employs the intelligent search algorithms of Globalbrain, licensed from Brainware, Inc., of Dulles, Virginia.

Craig Norris, Chief Executive Officer of Attensity explained, ''Attensity 4 combines the power of Text Analytics with Brainware's sophisticated search and retrieval capabilities. Attensity Text Search is an excellent tool for managers, analysts and investigators who want to explore hunches without wasting time or resources.''

Attensity 4's Text Search application is designed to allow users to:
    • Test hypothesis by running ad hoc searches to determine if documents contain key words, concepts, issues, or problems they are seeking to understand.
    • Easily find documents of interest employing advanced search features like fuzzy search, phrasal search and relevance scoring.
    • Delve deeper into documents of interest by running advanced text analysis against documents returned in search results.
Text Analytics software and solutions from Attensity are designed to rapidly and accurately transform unstructured data into valuable, actionable information. Attensity enables Global 2000 enterprises and government agencies to extract facts from freeform text, integrate them with structured data, and analyze 100 percent of data seamlessly using Attensity applications or existing business intelligence applications of choice. The company's patented Exhaustive Extraction technology speeds detection and response to critical events and issues related to intelligence analysis, money laundering, fraud detection, insurance claims analytics, customer care, and service and warranty analysis. Attensity teams with Business Objects, IBM, and Teradata to offer comprehensive solutions integrated with data warehousing and business intelligence systems.
