    Google Hosts Technology Network Event

Mountain View, California - August 6, 2007 - Recently, Google co-hosted a social mixer, along with the Nonprofit Technology Network (NTEN), a nationwide membership organization of several thousand nonprofit technology professionals who want to help nonprofits use technology more effectively.

The event, attended by Matthew Glotzbach, Product Director at Google Enterprise, featured DJ Hey Man - Darian Rodriguez Heyman, Executive Director of the Craigslist Foundation. In addition, the gathering brought together nearly 150 members of nonprofits to hear such speakers as Katrin Verclas of NTEN, and Ami Dar of Idealist.org, plus Camron Assadi, Partnerships Officer for Mercy Corps, and Daniel Heath, Network Administrator for the East Bay Community Recovery Project, to discuss ways in which nonprofits can take advantage of the latest technology trends to support their programs, and their experiences with Google Apps.

The Google Apps Education Edition was also extended to registered nonprofits in the U.S. The idea for the program extension, emerged from local nonprofit conversations with Google. It was through those meetings, that it was realized how the Education Edition of Google App hosted suite of communication and collaboration tools - free for educational institutions, were discovered as a support for nonprofits.

Featuring flexible technologies requiring little or no investment, Google hopes that such features as email migration, 24/7 assistance and integration APIs, in addition to the standard email, calendaring and online document collaboration tools, will enable nonprofits to focus less on technology, and more on fulfilling their business critical missions, in fields of advocacy, policy, civil, social or environmental welfare, among other goals.

With the largest index of websites available on the World Wide Web and the industry's most advanced search technology, Google Inc. delivers the fastest and easiest way to find relevant information on the Internet. Google's technological innovations have earned the company numerous industry awards and citations, including two Webby Awards; two WIRED magazine Readers Raves Awards; Best Internet Innovation and Technical Excellence Award from PC Magazine; Best Search Engine on the Internet from Yahoo! Internet Life; Top Ten Best Cybertech from TIME magazine; and Editor’s Pick from CNET. A growing number of companies worldwide, including Yahoo! and its international properties, Sony Corporation and its global affiliates, AOL/Netscape, and Cisco Systems, rely on Google to power search on their websites. A privately held company based in Mountain View, Calif., Google's investors include Kleiner Perkins Caufield Byers and Sequoia Capital.
